Diamond Cosmetics: Swatches

*Because I'm so close to 100 followers now, I'll be doing a mini giveaway when I reach 100 followers.*

I will continue the rest of the Tronica tomorrow. (Disappointing as it is!) I had some nail art to share with you today but the pictures were terrible! :( So instead I'll be sharing with you some of the Diamond Cosmetics Nail Polish I own. I ordered these on thanksgiving when Diamond Cosmetics was having free shipping.
"Silver Polish", Cool & Creamy, Amethyst & Diamonds, Under the Willow Tree, and Metallic Blue.

This is 3 coats of "Silver". This polish has a different bottle from the other ones. It was on the clearance page so it must be "Sterling Silver" but I'm not sure.

This polish was opaque in 2 coats but was streaky so I used a 3rd.  Nothing really super unique here, just a silver foil.

It's very foily though :).

This is 3 coats of Cool & Creamy. It was awkward and streaky but I like it!

It's an off white nudish shimmer with some visible nail line, but somehow I love the sheerness to it.

It's kind of unexpectedly cool. :)

This is my favorite of the bunch- Amethyst & Diamonds. This is 2 coats. It's a medium purple shade with holographic glitter. The glitter gave the polish a bit of a texture.

This polish was very hard to capture. The color is accurate but the holographic glitter is much more exciting in real life.

I tried all sorts of fun angles to try and catch the glitter!

In this picture you can see all the glitter that looks awesome on the nail.

You can see a bit of the glitter and the texture here.

This is 2 coats of Under the Willow Tree. It was almost opaque in 1.

It looks a bit jelly here but I think it's a creme. Or maybe a jelly-creme.

It's a dark, dark green that almost looks black.

This is 1 coat of Metallic Blue, which I wouldn't describe as a Metallic.

In my eyes, this is more of a blue shimmer. I think this color goes well with my skin tone.

Pretty, yes?

All in all I love Diamond Cosmetics. They're cheap and have good formulas. I've run across their makeup in Big Lots but never the polish.
I only have one complaint! Usually when I've been called (or I call them) by Diamond Cosmetics, everyone is helpful and polite. But in this order, Cool & Creamy leaked everywhere quite a lot of it was lost from my bottle. I tried calling multiple times to their customer service. Every time I explained to the lady on the line about my leaked polish, I was directed to another line with some sort of answering machine that wouldn't let me leave a message. I tried leaving two emails with them, but they were also never answered.
If you've ordered from DC, you might have noticed that any problems or complaints need to be filed within 48 hours of receiving your order. So, after two days of failed attempts at reaching anyone to help me- I cut my losses and just cleaned off the polish.
It wasn't like this was this HUGE deal. the polish only spilled a little bit, but I can imagine being urked big time if a polish had broken and I couldn't reach anyone.
This whole ordeal didn't stop me from ordering from them next time they had a free shipping offer.
 -End rant-.

The nail art I wanted to show you guys today. This was the best of the crappy pictures.

  1. Oh no! Sorry to hear you've had a terrible leaky-polish incident. That's happened to me too. :-( dreadful.

I really like the Metallic Blue. I'll have to see where I can buy these for future reference.

I have to say again that your nails are fab! Could you do a post on your manicure / nail care routine? I'm always interested to hear how people keep their cuticles in such great condition. Yours look perfect :-)

Thanks for the great post x
