Green Swatches And Nail Art

I'm not really a big celebrator of St. Patty's Day. I'm also not a big fan of green beer. :) But I do have some green polishes I wanted to share with you guys today.

Piggy Polish Poet-Tree, China Glaze Tree Hugger, Ulta Into The Lime Light, and Sinful Colors Call You Later.

This is 4 coats of Piggy Polish Poet-Tree.

Poet-Tree is a mint green creme polish. The formula on this was terrible. It was very streaky and very sheer.

I love the mint color of this polish but I did not like the formula on this at all. It was like working with water.

You can slightly see some balding spots I had.

This is 2 coats of China Glaze Tree Hugger.

Tree Hugger is a grassy green shimmer polish. The formula on this was pretty good. It became opaque in 2 coats but there is slight visible nail light with it.

This color doesn't make me think of trees or people hugging them. It does make me think of grass.

Awe, I broke my middle finger and it looks so short here! I really don't know how some of you ladies grow long nails! I have to keep my nails short for my job but I'm always falling and hitting my hands against stuff which breaks my nails. I think I'm too clumsy for long nails.

This is 2 coats of Ulta Into The Lime Light.

Into The Lime Light is a light green foil polish. I love this polish. The way it reflects light makes it very stunning.

I love foil polishes that aren't traditional metallic colors. I wonder if I have a pink foil polish..Hmmm.

>.< I didn't do a good job cleaning up!

This is 2 coats of Sinful Colors Call You Later over Ulta Into The Lime Light.

Call You Later is a green glitter polish with green hexagon glitter and smaller, lighter round glitter.

I like this combo of the green foil and glitter but I'll likely use the rest of the bottle for frankens :P.

It almost looks like flakies.

And of course I did some green themed nail art!

I started with 2 coats of Color Club Worth the Risque.

I then added a bunch of green dots. :)

I'm starting to like it the more I wear it. This is my first time doing a dots manicure but I'm itching to get back into nail art.

Here's everything I used.
Zoya Kelly, China Glaze Tree Hugger, China Glaze Jolly Holly, Jesse's Girl Midori, Escape Racing Green, Essie Going Incognito, and Pa A32.

I also tried my hand at "dusty hunting" yesterday. I stopped at many nail salons but none of them were selling any good polishes. I finally stopped at beauty supply I've never been to and found a gem.

OPI Blue Moon Lagoon (this actually came in the mail from eBay yesterday), China Glaze Out On Safari, Nubar Diamont, Qtica Natural Nail Growth Stimulator, and two Cuccio Forte Horsetail Grass Nail Strengthener.
The Cuccio Strengtheners were BOGO Free for 6 dollars so I picked up one for my friend.

China Glaze Out On Safari is a very hard to find polish and I can't believe I found it on my first dusty trip!

Stay safe today, everyone!

  3. I think my Tree Hugger has a blue shimmer to it - yours doesn't look like it does! I'm going to check again when I get home later.
I want that Lime Light now! I didn't care for it in the store, but the lighting at my Ulta seems very dull.

  8. Love the dot mani!

I have a pink foil by LA Colors called Electrified, which I found at Dollar Tree. last I saw, mine still had some, so I think it's something they are currently stocking in general.

  10. Naomi- Nope it has a bit of blue shimmer. But it almost looks green and doesn't show up well on the nail.

    Nail crazy- Of course!

Johnna- Dusty hunting is going to Nail Salons or Beauty supplies (usually hole in the wall places) and looking for discontinued polishes. They're called dusties because often the polish is literally dusty!

    Melina- good to know!

Monkey- I can't wait to show it!

    Thanks guys!
