6/11/11 NOTDs

This is 2 coats of Studio M Blue Funk.

Blue Funk is a deep blue frost polish.

It reminds me a bit of China Glaze Frostbite.

I used this as a base for my first polish ever...

Sally Hansen Garnet Lapis!

At first I wasn't too impressed with Garnet Lapis.

But when I angled my hands I saw flashes of gold and purple.

Garnet Lapis was my first "real" polish. I remember being so excited after seeing the nail prism adds in a magazine. I rushed out and got this bad boy with my allowance money and realized it was really sheer! I'm glad I never tossed it!

Garnet Lapis is long discontinued but I've seen some float through ebay.

I've only tried this over Blue but I'm curious how it looks over black...

This is 2 coats of Essie First Dance.

First Dance is a red creme.

I don't usually get excited over red cremes- but this one is perfect!

I think you can see the refection of my camera!

Here is 1 coat of LA Splash Glitz & Berry over Essie First Dance.

Glitz & Berry is a crimson red glitter polish.

The macro really picks up on my sloppy application but in real life, it was gorgeous.

It reminded me a little of China Glaze Ruby Pumps.

This is 3 coats of Studio M Vintage Vamp.

Vintage Vamp is a purple polish with a ton of blue shimmer.

I can't believe this sat untried in my drawer for so long!

I think the shimmer is a bit more obvious in real life.

This is 2 coats of Nina Ultra Pro Purple-Xing.

Purple-Xing is an opaque dark purple glitter polish with holographic glitter.

This polish is a bit gritty. So I do suggest a layer of Gelous before your top coat.

It looks like a disco ball!

  1. I remember the first polish I bought was Revlon Tropical Teal and my mom almost had a heart attack. I saw it in a magazine and I had to have it...despite it being pretty expensive back in the day to a school girl lol.

  6. wow. all of those polishes are GORGEOUS!! and I LOVE the shape of your nails! They're the perfect length for your nail beds and you keep them so neat and well taken care of! They look great!

I keep mine neat and natural looking and *always* have polish on but, my nail beds are short and more square than yours. *jealous* :)
