OPI: Texas Swatches

I never really had much interest in the Texas collection. I finally saw the collection in person and decided I really wanted to try 3 of the colors. This collection also featured OPI's new "sorbet finish". 

I Vant To Be A-Lone Star, Too Hot Pink To Hold 'Em, and Do You Think I'm Tex-y?

Ugh. Can we talk about these names? Really, OPI? These names are not cute or clever to me. I think they're so cheesy. Every time I read them I want to roll my eyes.

This is 3 coats of I Vant To Be A-Lone Star.

I Vant To Be A-Lone Star is a grey blue with silver shimmer. It reminds me of Zoya Marley but blue.

This polish is gorgeous. If I could only have one polish from the Texas collection it would be this one.

I believe some people had trouble with the application of this one but I didn't. After 3 coats it was smooth like butter.

This is 2 coats of Too Hot Pink To Hold 'Em.

Too Hot Pink To Hold 'Em is a cherry, hot pink sorbet polish. I am not a fan of the sorbet finish. Too much visible nail line.

I think it looks like melted cough drops on my nails. Ew.

I will admit, it is VERY shiny!

This is 3 coats of Do You Think I'm Tex-y?

Do You Think I'm Tex-y? is a magenta sorbet polish. There really isn't a lot of difference in color between Too Hot Pink To Hold 'Em and this one.

I just can't get into these polishes at all.

This is more melted jolly rancher.

I'm disapointed that I didn't like the sorbets more but I wasn't interested when I first heard about them anyway. I love I Vant To Be A-Lone Star and very happy that it turned out to be a gorgeous polish.

How do you guys feel about the sorbet finishes?

Nail Art, Holographic Wheel, and BleachBlack NSFW Polish

I couldn't really decide what I wanted to post about today so I gathered some random stuff I had on my computer and made this post. :)

This is a mani I did a while ago. I love the combo of purple and silver but the stamping came out a bit smudged.

The stamping came out really clear on my right thumb.

I think I might do this combo again soon.

I used CND Silver Chrome with plate BM09 over China Glaze Grape Pop.

I also did a Holographic Wheel with some (not all!) of my holographic polishes. It's KarenD-esque. :) I know I'm kind of spastic and wrote the numbers huge and messy but work with me here.

Last but not least.. This little guy.

Bleach Black Jizz. This polish retails for 12 dollars I believe, but it was on sale for $3 so I snatched it up and thought why not. I love the packaging. 

This is 3 coats of Bleach Black Jizz.

Jizz (LOL) is a pearly white frost polish. It's VERY brush stroke ridden. 

Have any of you read the Bleach Black blog? It's two girls that do a side-by-side fashion blog. I started reading their blog way before I was into nail polish and I remember when she released this color. It's too bad that this polish is brush stroke ridden. But.. I guess it looks like..well...

This polish really does glow. It gives me tan hands :p.

All joking aside, their other color, Dickweed- looks amazing. >:) I've been trying to get my hands on that for awhile!

Shisem F600 and Wet N Wild Black Rose

Today is just a quick post because I'm very busy and I'm already behind!

Shisem F600 and Wet N Wild Black Rose.

This is 1 coat of Shisem F600.

Shisem F600 (I'm assuming that's it's name) is an opaque royal blue shimmer polish. I bought this polish off of eBay and it definitely doesn't smell like it's Big3free. I own another Shisem, in a different bottle shape, that I bought at a Korean beauty store near me.

I wasn't expecting much from this polish but it's actually quite pretty.

This is 2 coats of Wet N Wild Black Rose. GRRR my camera always goes crazy trying to capture black polish :(.

Black Rose (which is not it's real name- it doesn't have a name) is a green based black jelly.

It's super shiny and dark- as a black polish should be.

And of course I wanted to layer on it...

I layered two coats of Hannah Pinktana over it.

This made me love HP a little bit. I think it makes my nails look like space.

YUM.

But how cool is this bottle? It makes for awkward storage but...

Essence: Fairytale Swatches

If you follow me on twitter, you know that I just bought the Essence Fairytale collection yesterday when I went to cash in on my points. First, I have to say I LOVE Essence. I find that for a cheaper brand, the quality of the product is really great. So I was so excited when I saw their Fairytale collection!

But first- I showed you guys my stash when I organized it by color..Well I couldn't take all the different sized bottles so I went back to organizing by brand. Except, I did keep a holographic polish and international polish drawer. I wanted to show you guys one of my drawers.

This makes me feel 100% better. I love how uniform the bottles look. :)

Aren't the bottles adorable?

Pixie Dust, Tinka's Dress, Welcome to Wonderland, Fairy Berry, Humpty Dumpty, and Once Upon A Star.

This is 3 coats of Pixie Dust.

Pixie Dust is a soft pink foil polish that is almost silver.

It's very soft and pretty. It's a color I would associate with fairy dust, I suppose. :)

It's very reflective and almost appears to be silver.

This is 3 coats of Tinka's Dress.

Tinka's Dress is a peachy pink foil polish.

I'm not sure who "Tinka" is. The only thing I can think of is Tinkerbell. But she had a green dress..

This polish seems to have a hint of orange as well.

This is 4 coats of Welcome To Wonderland.

Welcome to Wonderland is a light purple foil that is almost silver.

This polish seems to be the slightly purple version of Pixie Dust.

It's very soft and pretty. :)

This is 2 coats of Fairy Berry.

Fairy Berry is a medium purple foil polish. 

Ah... My love affair with purple polish continues.

I don't think I own a purple foil, so this is a treat.

This is 2 coats of Humpty Dumpty.

Humpty Dumpty is a strange color. It's kind of in between grey/silver and purple. Another foil.

I like the ambiguity of this color. I believe there is an eyeshadow to match this one.

It almost looks like it has a hint of brown as well.

This is 2 coats of Once Upon A Time.

Once Upon A Time is the only polish in the collection that isn't a foil. It is a raspberry red glitter polish.

I actually really like this red polish. I think because the color really does remind me of a raspberry. Or a perfect strawberry.

I have the Once Upon A Time lip gloss to match this polish. I know this is a nail polish blog, but I might post a swatch of it later. :)

I hope you guys enjoyed this collection. I certainly love the bottles and the colors I just wish there was more of a variety of finishes. I love the foil finish but I think it's strange there is only one non-foil. The bottles weren't hard to work with at all. Some of the colors were more opaque than others. I think the darker colors tended to be more opaque.
