China Glaze Hunger Games Collection

I recently became a huge Hunger Games fan. I read all three books in 4 days. :) So when I saw the Hunger Games collection at Sallys I knew I had to have them all. I did leave one behind- because it just really turned my tummy.

This is 2 coats of Fast Track.

Fast Track is a pale taupe brown with gold shimmer.

This is 1 coat of Dress Me Up.

Dress Me Up is a  mauve creme polish.

This is 2 coats of Mahogany Magic.

Mahogany Magic is chocolate brown creme. I have mixed feelings about this one. It leans a little green.

This is 2 coats of Foie Gras.

Foie Gras is a dark brown taupe creme.

This is 1 coat of Luxe And Lush over Foie Gras.

Luxe And Lush is an iridescent chunky flake. It lies pretty flat.

This is 2 coats of Riveting.

Riveting is an orange glass flecked polish.

This is 2 coats of Harvest Moon.

Harvest Moon is a bronzy foil polish.

This is 2 coats of Electrify.

Electrify is a gold and red hex glitter polish with great coverage.

This is 1 coat of Agro.

Agro is an olive green shimmer polish.

This is 1 coat of Stone Cold.

Stone Cold is a grey and silver suede polish.

This is 1 coat of Smoke And Ashes.

Smoke And Ashes is a black with green glitter. It's really gorgeous in real life.

This collection doesn't blow my pants off but I like it. I love the contrast between the earthy tones and the bright golden tones. I wish the names were a bit better. The names don't feel like they belong to The Hunger Games.
What do you guys think of this collection?

  1. I first thought I wanted this whole collection, but after seeing swatches, I think I just want Stone Cold, Riveting, and Argo. Those are the only ones that I have nothing like in my collection.

  2. I'm oddly attracted to "Dress Me Up"....I love Harvest Moon, Argo, and Riveting even though they feel more "Fallish" to me. Electrify is super awesome! I remember reading somewhere that the original names for these were more book-centered...I wish they stuck with those but they had some issue with it :/

  7. I got a few of them and I can't wait to wear them!! I agree, the names don't sound like the Hunger Games, but you that they had to change them, right? The original names sounded a lot better IMO. Beautiful swatches!

  8. Beautiful! I ended up getting the whole set. Love them like I love the books. I fell hard and fast too as my brother just gave me the books for Christmas.

I also prefer the original names. I think they fit much better than the district names. But, I'd rather have so-so names than no collection at all. I posted the original names on my blog post.

  9. I was strangely attracted to Dress me Up as well and bought it, though I don't love mauves. This one seems more a neutral pink to me. I am wearing Agro now and LOVE IT! Perfect spring Olive green, if that can make sense.

  12. I'm especially loving Stone Cold for it's matte finish, but also like Agro, Riveting, Harvest Moon and Dress Me Up. For those that haven't read the book, the polish names are based on the different districts in Panem - Agro reflecting the agricultural district. Stone cold is masonry district. Dress Me Up - textile district. etc.
