I actually stumbled upon Alchemic Muse on Etsy one day looking for scrubs. When I saw how much feedback she had, I just had to order. I just had to know what everyone loved about her shop.
Here is what I ended up ordering.
My free sample with my order was a chunk of Countrycide soap. Personally, I don't use soap for much of anything (besides washing my hands).
She does have a scent list on her blog but it is very short so I'm assuming it hasn't been updated with new scents. Also, her shop is closed as of writing this post so I can't find this scent in a listing.
This soap has a musky, clean, soapy scent.
This is the Foaming Body Scrub in Waikiki.
The site describes this scent as "Sparkling island lime and freshly cracked coconut drenched in summer sunshine and splashed with salty ocean spray".
This smells like island lime with a hint of coconut and something a bit calming about it.
I have been using this scrub a lot lately. It has a good, thick consistency that works up to a nice lather.
This is the Deadwood Sugar Polish.
The site describes the scent as "Wild bergamot, clover honey, and a light dusting of spice leading to a heart of warm amber and barley grass grounded in a rich base of black vanilla, musk, teak, and worn brown leather.".
To me, it has a musky, vanilla baby powder like scent. With just a hint of worn in leather. Yum. It's very different but it smells so good.
The texture on this scrub is different from the first one. It has a tad bit oilier of a texture. But not too oily that it leaves a greasy residue on my skin.
Cafe Noir Sugar Polish.
The website describes the scent as "Roasted coffee beans brewed with spicy black peppercorns, mace, and coriander nuanced with smoky incense, Haitian vetiver, and exotic woods".
To me, it has a scrong incense and woodsy scent. I think at first, I wasn't the biggest fan of this scent but it has grown on me a lot.
This one has a similar texture to the Deadwood scrub. I also think this one has ground coffee in it? I'm not exactly sure what the black grittiness is.
This is the Lemon Biscotti Body Whip.
The site describes this scent as "A delicious, bakery fresh recipe of zesty fresh lemons enveloped in sweet cake flour and shreds of toasted almonds".
At first, this body whip had a skunky undertone but now it smells just fine and I can assess the scent. I think it just needed a bit of time to cure. This smells like what I think lemon biscotti would smell like. Flaky, bakery tone with sweet yet tangy lemon.
I love the consistency of these body whips. It's not too liquidy or too heavy. It's a good strong body butter that holds some shape. This is my perfect texture for a body butter or cream.
This is the body whip in Kama Sutra.
The site describes it as "Sweet, spicy and subtly intoxicating. Sweet blood orange laden with aged dark patchouli shrouded in whispers of exotic grasses and crushed clove buds."
I can definitely pick up on clove and patchouli right away. This scent is totally up my alley.
This one is a slightly offwhite color.
I loved everything I ordered and that doesn't always happen! I've already placed my 2nd order and I know a third one will happen as soon as she reopens her shop.
I would hugely suggest trying this shop. Very quick shipping, great packaging and great products. The prices and sizes are great too. I prefer smaller sizes in case I don't like a scent or texture.
The scrubs I bought ranged in price from $2.25-$4.50". And the body whips were $4.50.
I can't wait to try more products from this company!
