September 2012 Empties

I haven't been buying nearly as much beauty products like I normally do. So I've been working through even more products lately. I actually feel good about this. Rediscovering my stash has been surprisingly fun.

Blue Cross Cuticle Remover
I've been working through this big bottle for a little over a year now. I use this everyday at work and it has lasted me so long! This stuff is amazing. I put this on and it softens the cuticle so well. It's not my end all be all of cuticle removers but it does an amazing job and I'll already working my way into my 2nd bottle.

Shikioriori Apple Body Soap
I love the way Japanese apple scented products smell. It's a tarter, green appley scent that I am addicted to. I wasn't completely impressed with the quality of this but the smell was wonderful. I don't think I will be repurchasing just because I'd rather find something I love.

Paul Mitchell Extra-Body Daily Rinse
I really thought I loved this shampoo until I switched to Aquage Color Protecting Shampoo. Now this doesn't seem so great...

Dermalogica Active Moist
I love this moisturizer. It is great for nighttime. It feels heavy enough to moisturize my skin but it also helps with breakouts which I love. I've switched to another moisturizer I had and I am going right back to Active Moist.

Dermalogica Clearing Mattifier & Overnight Clearing Gel
I have been using the Mattifier as a primer under my makeup for days when I am breaking out. It has salicylic acid to help control my breakouts. I'm currently not repurchasing because I'm trying to see how my Murad primer holds up instead.
The overnight clearing gel has changed my skin. Seriously. Now that I have been without it for a couple weeks I am dying. My skin is just not the same at all. This 1.7 oz bottle lasted me a little over a year and it spoiled me rotten. I tried use a DHC product that seemed similar and it isn't doing what OCG did for me. I am repurchasing ASAP.

Alchemic Muse Body Whip in Kama Sutra
I adore this body whip. It's the perfect consistency and texture. It absorbs quickly and smells amazing. I will be buying more from her as soon as I start burning through my stash.

Alchemic Muse Foaming Body Scrub in Waikiki
First of all, this scrub smells amazing. It has a coconuty, island lime scent that is just to die for. Secondly, it is a GREAT scrub. A+ for this one.

Can you believe it's October already? Geesh.

  1. love this post on the products that work for you. you've increased my interest in dermalogica products since I suffer from breakouts. my usual pattern is finding something that works for me for a while then it seems to stop. maybe dermalogica will be the trick for me. i know that i will always suffer from acne, but i hope to gain control of it *chokes pimple to death* As for the Blue Cross cuticle remover, I'm not too sure about it because it seems to be so drying for me. I bought it because I was able to get a huge bottle of it for cheap, and I remember reading rave reviews. However, it may not be for me. Thanks again for the interesting post.

  2. I love these posts! I just got Dermalogica's Clean Start kit but haven't started it yet. I definitely need help with the acne stuff too so I'm glad to see you like this brand! I've used Murad in the past and liked it although I'm not sure it really helped with my acne all that much! haha
