Duri Insidious:Chapter 2 Collection

Morning Lacquerettes! Today I will be showing you swatches from the Duri Insidious: Chapter 2 collection.
Have you guys seen Insidious? It's a very strange horror movie and I can't wait to see the 2nd chapter.
The polishes are meant to "match the theme of the film highlighting significant colors within the film." I can't comment on that yet since the film comes out on Friday the 13th next month.

A little Bit About Duri:
Duri polishes are big 3 free. So their polishes are free of DBP, Toluene, and Formaldehyde. This is pretty standard in the nail world but there are a few brands out there that are not big 3 free and it's always good to know which brands are.
The brush on a Duri polish is a big interesting. The brush itself is a bit wide and flat across at the top. I'm used to brushes that flair a bit and aren't as square but it actually applied the polish just fine.
Duri polishes retail for $6.

I haven't used top coat or base coat for these swatches.

This is 3 coats of Lady In White.

Lady In White is a white shimmery polish. The shimmer in it might lean a bit silvery. The formula was pretty hard to work with, as is mostly expected with white polishes.

You can catch a bit of the shimmer here. I guess white nails on a white background wasn't such a good idea haha.

You can catch a bit of the shimmer here. In real life, the shimmer is a bit more visible but it is still discrete.
This is shown in sunlight.

This is 2 coats of Shocking Twist.

Shocking Twist is limey chartreuse creme polish. I just LOVE something about this polish. It's very unexpected and lovely.

The formula was very nice and smooth.

This is 2 coats of Red Door.

Red Door is a dark red jelly polish. I could have gotten away with 1 coat.

The formula on this was also really great. It looks suspiciously close to my Holy Grail red polish- China Glaze Phat Santa. I will have to compare them soon.

Again, in sunlight.

This is 2 coats of Steel Shadows.

Steel Shadows is a black based polish packed with silver shimmer. For as shimmery as it is, it wasn't too thick or hard to apply.

This polish could have gotten away with 1 coat as well.

In natural light.

This is 1 coat of Nightfall.

Nightfall is a dark blue polish with lighter blue shimmer. It's such a perfect fall shade.

Can you believe this is only one coat? I'm loving these formulas.

In sunlight.

This is 1 coat of Into The Further.

Into The Further is a pigmented black polish that dries to a satin finish.

The formula on this one was great too. Very pigmented but not too thick either.

In sunlight.

Overall, I am really impressed with this collection. With the exception of Lady In White, these polishes have amazing near 1 coat formulas. I am still obsessing over Shocking Twist! And I'm excited that I might have a dupe for my favorite red.
These polishes are premiering online today. Duri's online store is here.
Thanks so much for looking!
