First Attempt At A Tape Manicure

I've seen so many wonderful striping tape manicures where the tape is applied and removed to leave a design.
So I decided to give it a try.

It turned out so.... bleh. Well, I probably should have tried something easier.

I used SpaRitual Undercurrent as a base and Finger Paints Paper Mache and American Apparel Hassid on my ring finger.

Oh well! Better luck next time I guess.

  1. I'm not great at tape manis but what really helped me was getting a technique down for removing the tape. I use a pair of tweezers and carefully remove each strip in the reverse order I laid them down aka last one laid down is the first one I pick up. Also making sure the polish consistency is just right (not great at this part) so it's not too wet and smears or too dry and pulls off the top polish with the tape.

Honestly yours looks pretty damn good for your first attempt! Maybe try more forgiving colors next time? That always makes me feel better about mine ;)

    1. Yes I did the tweezers and removing in reverse order.. I think maybe I didn't have the tape sealed perfectly or it was too wet and it ran.
      But thank you!
